ABOUT THE ARTIST

Acacia is a full time painter, fine art instructor, and owner of the "Acacia Coll Gallery & Art School". She works and teaches in various mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, and charcoal. She has been primarily self taught since she started drawing as a child, and is always searching for new ways to learn, grow, and create.

Her preferred subject is, and always has been wildlife. The beauty of nature, the ecology, and the behaviors of animals are her primary inspirations, particularly the local wildlife around New Hampshire where she has spent most of her life. She aims to use her artwork to benefit nature and animal conservation efforts.

Acacia started her professional artistic journey in her mid 20s, often participating in shows and events, auctions, taking commissions, and sharing her work and progress online. This eventually evolved into teaching and gallery representation, after working as an assistant and learning the ropes from the great Todd Bonita.

"Being a self-assured risk taker has been a driving force every step of the way, often needing to silence the voice of doubt and push forward, regardless of the possibility of failure. I could not be where I am today without those that believed in me and lifted me up, and certainly not without believing in myself."
